Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Pray collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Pray mobile app, website, widgets, and related services.

Pray is a Christian devotional, Bible study, guided prayer, and faith companion app. The Service may include daily Scripture, prayer tools, Bible chat, study plans, reminders, subscriptions, widgets, speech-to-text prayer input, and community prayer features.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information created through your use of the Service, and technical information needed to operate the Service.

• Account information such as email address, authentication identifiers, user ID, username, locale, timezone, and account status.
• Devotional, prayer, chat, and study information such as prompts, messages, prayer drafts, generated prayers, saved prayers, study plan topics, progress, streak state, Bible preferences, voice preferences, onboarding answers, notes, and widget settings.
• Community and moderation information such as prayer requests, replies, reactions, reports, blocks, hidden content actions, moderation decisions, author labels, and timestamps.
• Speech input information when you enable microphone or speech recognition. We use microphone access only when you start voice input. Transcripts may be saved or processed as prayer text if you choose to keep, submit, or generate content from them.
• Reminder information such as notification preferences, scheduled reminder times, notification permission status, and local notification identifiers.
• Subscription information such as product ID, entitlement status, subscription status, trial dates, renewal date, platform, store receipt or purchase token information, and subscription interaction events.
• Technical and usage information such as device type, operating system, app version, platform, locale, timezone, network status, diagnostics, logs, API status, feature interactions, and analytics events.
• Support communications and any information you choose to provide when contacting us.

Sensitive Information

Prayer, chat, community, and study features may involve personal and sensitive topics, including religious beliefs, emotional distress, relationships, grief, health concerns, and family matters. You choose what to provide.

Please do not submit emergency requests, payment card details, government ID numbers, account passwords, personal data about children, or another person's private information without permission.

How We Use Information

• Provide daily Scripture, prayer, Bible chat, study plans, reminders, widgets, subscriptions, and community features.
• Personalize devotional content, prayer prompts, Bible preferences, and study recommendations.
• Generate or assist with prayer, devotional, and Bible explanation content.
• Save drafts, preserve chat and prayer context, maintain streaks, and sync content across devices.
• Authenticate users, protect accounts, verify subscriptions, restore purchases, and provide premium entitlements.
• Moderate community content, enforce safety rules, respond to reports, and support blocking.
• Improve the Service, troubleshoot errors, measure usage, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability.
• Respond to support requests, legal requests, security incidents, and comply with applicable law and platform rules.

AI-Assisted Features

The Service may use AI-assisted systems or providers to generate Bible explanations, prayer suggestions, devotional content, study plans, and related responses.

When you use AI-assisted features, prompts, chat messages, prayer text, study topics, and relevant app context may be processed to provide a response and improve reliability and safety. AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your situation and is not pastoral counseling, mental health care, medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or emergency assistance.

Local Storage and Offline Use

The app may store information locally on your device using secure storage, SQLite, app storage, or device notification systems. This may include authentication tokens, user profile cache, drafts, prayer text, Bible progress, streak state, widget settings, reminder settings, and other app state.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money or use private prayer text or chat content for third-party advertising.

• Service providers that host, operate, secure, analyze, or support the Service.
• AI and content processing providers used to generate or moderate responses.
• Authentication providers such as Apple or Google when you choose social sign-in.
• Payment platforms such as Apple App Store or Google Play for subscriptions and purchase verification.
• Moderation, safety, support, analytics, diagnostics, and infrastructure providers.
• Other users when you post community prayer requests, replies, reactions, display information, or other visible community content.
• Legal, government, or safety authorities when required by law or when disclosure is necessary to protect users, the public, our rights, or the Service.

Community Privacy

Community prayer and discussion features are not private unless clearly marked as private. If you choose to post to the community, other users may see the content, author label, timestamps, and related interactions. Other users may report, quote, screenshot, or share content outside the Service.

We may review, remove, hide, block, or restrict community content and accounts to protect users and enforce our rules.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create accounts or submit personal information through the Service.

Family or kids content, if available, is intended for use by a parent or guardian, or under adult supervision. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and support legitimate business needs.

Prayer, chat, study, subscription, support, analytics, logs, and community records may be retained according to their purpose and legal requirements. Backup copies may persist for a limited period after deletion.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including secure storage for tokens, access controls, encrypted transport, authentication, monitoring, and limited access for personnel and service providers.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping account credentials private and for using care when entering sensitive prayer or community content.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app under Settings, by selecting Delete account. You can also update some preferences in the app, turn notifications on or off in device settings, sign out, manage subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play, or contact us for privacy help.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law.
